Job Description

SAFE (formerly Securing America’s Future Energy), seeks a Staff Assistant to support its Communications and Public Affairs team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual beginning their career and looking to gain first-hand experience in the field of policy communications while supporting our team in some key administrative functions. Members of our team are intellectual curiosity and passionate about the intersection of energy policy, national security, and climate issues, and are interested in bringing attention to detail, creativity, and digital savvy to advance SAFE’s mission.

This position reports directly to SAFE’s SVP of Public Affairs.

About SAFE

SAFE is an action-oriented, nonpartisan organization committed to transportation, energy, and supply chain policies that advance the economic and national security of the United States, its partners, and allies. SAFE’s expert staff works with the Energy Security Leadership Council (ESLC), a peerless coalition of Fortune 500 CEOs and retired four-star military officers, to drive secure, resilient, and sustainable policy solutions.

SAFE’s work has expanded past its original focus on reducing America’s oil dependence to encompass global transportation, energy policy, and mineral supply chain issues to address many of our most pressing societal challenges. By pushing for international cooperation, radical transparency, and coupling reindustrialization with decarbonization, SAFE advances a comprehensive approach—from the first raw materials to the very last mile.

SAFE’s Pillar Initiatives Include

  • The Center for Critical Minerals Strategy
  • The Center for Strategic Industrial Materials
  • The Coalition for Reimagined Mobility (ReMo)
  • The Grid Security Project
  • The European Initiative for Energy Security (EIES)
  • The Electrification Coalition (EC)

SAFE has played an essential role in the energy policy dialogue since its founding in 2005. In a polarized political environment where most voices in energy policy have been ideologically defined by the left or right’s political platforms, SAFE has remained focused on pragmatic solutions that address supply and demand-side considerations as part of a holistic approach to energy security.
