About Us: RWT’s client is a prominent renewable energy company in the United States, operating a significant portfolio of solar energy and battery storage projects, aiming to support the transition to an electrified and decarbonized world. Our client is one of the largest independent solar energy producers in the U.S.

Position Overview: As revamping and repowering are becoming essential for PV solar companies to maintain and enhance the performance, efficiency, and profitability of installations in a rapidly evolving technological, regulatory, and economic landscape, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Repowering and Revamping. This role will lead our client’s efforts in optimizing and upgrading existing assets, maximizing efficiency and lifespan, enhancing profitability, and contributing to sustainability goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and build a team from the ground up, dedicated to repowering solar and battery storage assets.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle from planning through execution and closeout.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to optimize project design and execution.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance project outcomes.
  • Monitor project progress and performance metrics; report regularly to senior management.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 10 years’ experience as a project manager in the renewable energy sector, specifically with solar projects.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a high volume of solar sites, retrofit processes and repowering sites.
  • Experience with utility-scale solar projects and knowledge of relevant regulations and codes.
  • Must be accustomed to using financial tools and knowledge to determine economic viability of various projects.
  • Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and energy optimization techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
