Functional area: Procurement
Remuneration: Exempt

The basic function of the Senior Associate, Procurement is to strategically source Grid components and gH2 turbines and negotiate contracts. In addition to handle supplier relationships and resolve procurement issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Identification and Management: Identify potential suppliers, establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and monitor their performance to ensure consistent adherence to quality and delivery standards
  • Sourcing and Procurement: Lead the sourcing process, including soliciting bids, conducting market research, analyzing proposals, and selecting suppliers with the most competitive offer
  • Contract Management: Develop and manage contractual agreements with suppliers ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements, in addition to fostering long-term relationships with those suppliers
  • Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, including supplier disruptions, changes in market conditions, regulatory changes and compliance
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize procurement tools and systems to generate reports, analyze procurement data, and provide insights to optimize decision-making
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative work environment providing guidance and support to procurement staff members and actively participating in cross functional meetings to achieve company objectives
  • Coordination skills to meet the needs of Development, Engineering, and Construction to successfully construct Grid components and gH2 projects in North America
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and respond quickly to changes in the build program
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively to senior level management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in procurement or engineering with strong focus on contracts management
  • Knowledge of the procurement process (solicitation and award) and experience in negotiating contracts
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risks and manage priorities effectively
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $79,400 – $119,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
