RWE Offshore Wind Services, LLC Functional area: Finance / Controlling

RWE is a global leader in offshore wind, with over two decades of experiences developing, constructing and operating offshore wind farms in countries around the world. In the United States, RWE has established a significant presence with a development pipeline of 6 GW across three secured offshore wind lease areas. This includes the Community Offshore Wind project in New York/New Jersey Bight, the Canopy floating offshore wind project off of Northern California, and the first secured federal lease area for offshore wind development in the Gulf of Mexico. RWE’s approach to development is centered on collaborative community engagement, building on our established experience with of skilled execution, and a commitment to safety.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the biggest growth areas in the energy market. This role is based in the finance team that supports RWE’s global offshore wind development business. Joining this group, you’ll contribute to the management of several high-value capital projects in the constantly evolving field of renewable energy.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise project teams and regional management on Controlling procedures and topics.
  • Ensure technical quality and coordinate interface management between growing team of financial controllers and adjacent departments (Corporate Controlling, Accounting, etc.).
  • Support continuous improvements to Controlling related processes and tools by identifying gaps/inefficiencies and proposing solutions involving our own team and global interfaces.
  • Advise on and present team overheads topics to US Offshore Management and Global Controlling function.
  • Develop the project specific structure and budgets of early projects using existing processes and controlling judgement/experience.
  • Support business decisions and reporting (self-driven data analysis, accruals, commitments, actuals, etc.).
  • Ensure internal controls are being adequately applied (Delegation of Authority, JV/Shareholder agreements, cash management, invoicing, etc.).
  • Facilitate proper project set up (WBS, procurement, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • ~10-15 years combined relevant experience and related field (Large Capital Projects, Energy Sector, etc.).
  • Experience working in a project environment on finance topics (FP&A, Controlling, Accounting).
  • Proactive in building multiple stakeholder relationships and competing priorities (Approachable, Organized, Presentation/Training skills).
  • Experience with building, implementing, and using IT solutions (SAP or other ERP systems, data visualization like PowerBI and Tableau, Excel based tools, Procure to Pay).
