Job Description

Senior ​Project Development Managers will oversee the progression of renewable energy projects, guiding them from the initial greenfield stage to the attainment of Notice to Proceed (NTP). Close collaboration with the team is essential for identifying new opportunities and supporting the existing project pipeline.

Become part of an international Independent Power Producer (IPP) engaged in the development of utility-scale projects across the United States. The client, with a substantial pipeline of projects in the early development phase, seeks to expand its team with skilled professionals.

Responsibilities

As the Solar + BESS Project Development Manager, your responsibilities include:

  • Assessing potential greenfield and brownfield sites and reviewing project portfolios with the broader team.
  • Engaging various stakeholders, utilizing market drivers, partners, funding, and technology to enhance renewable energy projects.
  • Creating comprehensive plans for project management and execution during the development phase, encompassing schedules, risk registers, and documentation.
  • Supporting negotiations for critical contracts, utilizing team insights.
  • Contributing to the refinement of the overall business case for projects and assisting in the formulation of operational documents.
  • Assisting in due diligence processes for off-takers and investors, preparing documentation and presentations.
  • Spearheading innovation in the energy sector in alignment with the company’s Business Plan.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of the company’s project management tools and policies for continual improvement.

Candidate Profile

The ideal Project Development Manager will possess:

  • A comprehensive understanding of renewable energy developments from inception to Commercial Operation Date (COD).
  • Previous experience in development projects.
  • Proactive stakeholder engagement expertise across communities, landowners, government, and consultants.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, promoting team collaboration and a proactive attitude.
  • Self-motivation and adaptability to ambiguity.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
