Job Description


The RISE Group, Inc. is seeking an Associate Technical Specialist to support engineering in providing energy savings and carbon reduction plans for various buildings on behalf of utilities and energy program sponsors. The Associate Technical Specialist will focus on data collection and input to support potential energy-efficiency measures and develop and present proposed work plans to energy end-users. The specialist will work in conjunction with the engineering group to review proposed scopes of work and develop energy efficiency, decarbonization, and microgrid assessments. Excellent career opportunity for individuals with energy-efficiency experience who are interested in serving buildings and their systems or for candidates with specialized experience in applicable technologies.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Collection of on-site data utilized to develop calculations and system models.
  • Evaluate opportunities for efficiency upgrades, controls, and facility decarbonization.
  • Develop models showing impacts of renewable energy systems.
  • Assist with developing reports for recommended energy-efficiency measures, including accurate life cycle cost estimates and impacts.
  • Work with engineering team and internal sales staff to review energy efficiency calculations and system data to verify accuracy.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of buildings and their various system types.
  • Coordinate all available incentives and financing options, including utility-company rebates.
  • Develop and nurture client relationships, and follow up as necessary to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of energy-efficiency experience;
  • Strong analytical, writing and communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to tactfully manage customer relationships.
  • A commitment to and enthusiasm for energy efficiency.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • College diploma including studies in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Other combinations of education, training and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • A valid driver’s license, clean driving record and the ability to travel to customer locations throughout New England.
  • Physically able to fulfill job functions, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and carrying and climbing step ladders.
  • Able to pass criminal background and drug screening tests.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College Degree in energy or environmental field.
  • Experience working with/for utility companies and securing available incentives for energy end-users.
  • Business-to-business sales experience.
  • Electrical/mechanical trade license.
