Role: Solar Design Engineer

Location: Kansas City

Salary Range: $100,000 – $140,000

The company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solar Designer to join their team in Kansas City. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed solar project designs using AutoCAD, ensuring all layouts and specifications meet industry standards and client expectations. Your deep knowledge of PvSyst will be essential in accurately modeling and optimizing solar energy systems to maximize efficiency and performance. This position requires a candidate with a solid background in solar project design, who can seamlessly integrate engineering principles with innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with project managers and engineers, contributing to the successful execution of large-scale solar installations. As this is a fully onsite role, you’ll be at the heart of the design process, working in a fast-paced environment that demands precision, creativity, and a commitment to sustainability.

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • Mastery of AutoCAD for solar design and drafting
  • Strong knowledge of PvSyst for solar energy modeling and analysis
  • Proven experience in solar project design, including site assessment and system sizing
  • Familiarity with NEC codes and relevant industry standards
  • Experience with single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, and construction documents
  • Ability to perform shading analysis and optimize panel placement
  • Preferred Electrical Engineering degree and EIT or FE certification
