Senior Civil Engineer – Solar

My Client, a leading player in the field, is seeking a talented Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Engineering and Estimating team, supporting both Business Development and Operations, to design civil plans and assess third-party designs for solar PV systems. Your expertise will be crucial in helping my Client expand its business and execute projects within budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solar Civil Design: Prepare comprehensive design documents for solar civil projects, including essential calculations, drawings, and civil specifications.
• Compliance Expertise: Interpret and apply relevant building codes and land use regulations to ensure project compliance.
• Site Evaluation: Analyze diverse data sources, such as reports, maps, aerial photographs, and geological information, to assess surface and subsurface conditions at project sites.
• Optimized Solutions: Utilize your strong analytical skills to integrate cost and technical requirements, delivering optimized solutions for site work and foundation design.
• On-Site Support: Conduct on-site visits to assist in site evaluation, suitability assessments, and due diligence efforts.
• Structural Oversight: Create and review structural drawings and calculations, ensuring the integrity of project designs.
• Construction Oversight: Review and approve construction submittals, addressing any requests for information (RFIs) from project teams and subcontractors.
• Collaboration: Actively participate in client and third-party engineer meetings to support My Client’s teams.
• Cost-Effective Design: Review third-party design civil sets, verifying the use of cost-effective approaches.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil design, with a preference for experience in solar plant site layouts and/or structural foundations.
• License: A Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS is essential.
• Renewable Energy Knowledge: Ability to engage in conceptual discussions related to Renewable Solar Power Plants or Battery Storage Projects.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Team Building: Experience in building and leading teams in a growth-oriented market.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, remaining accurate and composed under pressure.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Travel: Willingness to undertake short-term travel if required.
