Operations Manager

Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP) is seeking an Operations Manager to increase the efficiency of program delivery. The position will manage administrative processes across multiple REAP programs and support the sustainable growth of the organization.

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, and Virtual. The Operations Manager will be expected to work at least two days per week in REAPs office, with in-office or work-from-home options available the rest of the week.

Responsible to: The Operations Manager reports to REAPs Deputy Director. They will also work closely with other REAP staff and contractors, as well as REAP partners across the country.

Background: Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP) is the only non-profit in Alaska with a statewide focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy education and advocacy. Based in Anchorage, REAP is a coalition of over 60 dues-paying businesses, clean energy developers, electric utilities, conservation groups, Alaska Native organizations, educational institutions and local governments. Since its founding in 2004, REAP has worked to educate policy makers and the public through collaborative outreach, presentations, conferences, public forums, earned media, in-person meetings and other events. REAPs staff has grown to 12 FTEs in recent years and since the pandemic, has been operating in a hybrid work environment. Several staff travel across the state on a regular basis. REAP is looking for a creative, highly organized and deadline-oriented individual that can elevate the work of staff and reliably support the administration of the organization. REAP is seeking a growth-oriented individual that wants to learn and grow with the organization. We encourage anyone who is interested in this opportunity to apply. Key Responsibilities Include:

Coordinate staff to achieve timely board reports, credit card reports and reimbursement reports

Assist in tracking grant funding, reporting, and other deadlines

Track, align, and help plan outreach, consultation and travel schedules across programs

Maintain a current REAP calendar with relevant events, travel, conferences, reporting and other deadlines

Assist in the development, organization, and availability of REAP marketing materials

Assist in REAP outreach event planning

Help manage REAPs website and IT infrastructure

Support REAP fundraising efforts (database management, bulk mailings, events, thank-yous, etc.)

Develop additional systems to support REAPs programs and increase efficiencies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and/or experience with nonprofits, business, agencies or other relevant organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks, and willingness and ability to learn more
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong interpersonal communications and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including budget oversight

Self-motivated and team-oriented

Proficiency in standard office IT (Microsoft, Adobe, Google Workspace, Mac, etc.)

Familiarity with other technology and subscription services (i.e. CRM, Mailchimp, VoiceIP, Password management, etc.)

Well-organized and able to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously

Additional Preferred Experience:

Knowledge of Alaskan energy landscape

Knowledge of running payroll

Nonprofit bookkeeping and audit experience, including journal entries, invoicing, financial reports, and data entry

Understanding and know-how of basic website maintenance

Compensation: This is a permanent full-time position. Salary is $60,000 +, depending on experience and qualifications. Includes paid personal leave and holidays, retirement benefits and optional access to a health care reimbursement arrangement.

Pay: $55,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
