We are seeking an experienced Solar Maintenance Technician to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The technician will be responsible for performing day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of utility-scale solar PV systems. Key duties include inspecting and maintaining solar panels, inverters, and electrical systems, ensuring peak performance and safety compliance. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in outdoor environments. Candidates must be comfortable working at heights, have a valid driver’s license, and be available for on-call shifts.

- Flexibility to work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and travel to remote project sites as required
- Valid Drivers License with a minimum of 3 years driving experience
- Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring is required
- Familiarity with power tools and equipment used in solar panel installation
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
- Solar installation: 1 year of experience required
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day operations and maintenance of utility-scale PV (and energy storage) sites
- Responsible for multiple solar power plants, ensuring safe, efficient, and optimized plant operations
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components, including major and balance-of-system components
- Perform routine, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on equipment such as inverters, trackers, PV modules, and energy storage systems
- Create and complete work tickets, maintain tools, vehicles, and work locations safely
- Attend in-house/online training as required, including training new technicians to follow best practices
- Respond to emergency outages and assist in generator restorations, while being on-call as needed
- Oversee third-party testing and calibration services, and assist with vegetation mitigation as required
- Document all maintenance activities and spare parts consumption
- Develop and refine written troubleshooting and maintenance procedures
- Support commissioning and post-commissioning activities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of solar panels, inverters, and related equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical or mechanical failures, capture thermal imaging, and monitor system performance
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to complete solar installations and maintenance projects efficiently
- Maintain equipment inventory and work vehicle, ensuring readiness for all required tasks
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
