Job Summary

This position in the Records Management Center of the P&C Inside Plant Project Engineering Org has the primary responsibility of overseeing the successful management of engineering records. This includes the issuance of drawing packages and documentation within McLaren as well as issuing physical drawing packages to the field.

Position will work primarily from 40 Cragwood Rd, South Plainfield. This position is a hybrid role with anticipation of three days working in person and two days working remote.


Job Responsibilities

  • Utilize McLaren to effectively process various drawing packages including Conceptual, KDR, L&P, IFR, IFC, and As Built.
  • Verify correct and accurate drawing and TDR submittals from both In House Design Staff and A&E Firms and ensure package submittals, resubmittals, workflows, and handovers are executed properly.
  • Appropriately classify and manage various types of electronic records including but not limited to Scope Documents, Design Basis Documents, Vendor Drawings, Calculations, and various PE Stamped Submittals.
  • Monitor the DCS and RMC mailboxes and respond to submittal and records management related questions from both In House Design Staff and A&E Firms. Help ensure accurate and timely submittals for new personnel both A&E and Internal.
  • Support drawing requests, both physical records and electronic, from various departments within the Utility.
  • Help to resolve McLaren related issues and support system administration tasks as needed.
  • Conduct training with peers and colleagues as needed. Help support onboarding and training for new personnel to the RMC.
  • Manage and ensure proper filing of various existing physical records including Microfilm, Blueprints, Mylar Drawings, and Equipment Manuals. Also support electronic transition efforts of existing physical records.
  • Support printing, folding, and shipping of physical drawing packages for field construction and Division personnel as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities include:
    • Provide support outside of normal hours in support of P&Cs 24/7 operations as required.
    • Participate in on-call assignments in accordance with P&C requirements for response to system emergencies.


Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 1 year work experience in the McLaren application.
  • A minimum of 1 year work experience with engineering drawing packages.
  • Demonstrated Strong computer experience skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must demonstrate effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Must have strong planning and organization skills.
  • Must be adaptable and results-oriented.
  • Must have demonstrated professionalism and customer / client focus experience.
  • Be able to foster an inclusive work environment, respect / encourage all aspects of diversity, and be excellent in working as a part of a team.

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Electrical utility experience
  • Familiarity with MicroStation, AutoCad, or other drafting application
