What You’ll Do:

Step into a pivotal role as the Manager for Power System Studies at PSC, where you will drive the success of high-impact power system projects. As a key leader, you will helm a talented team of Power Systems Engineers, guiding them through complex technical challenges and delivering innovative solutions. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the future of power systems, as you oversee intricate studies, influence strategic decisions, and engage with clients to ensure exceptional project outcomes. This position offers a unique blend of leadership, technical expertise, and strategic business development, all within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Technical Projects: Oversee and manage power system study projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize advanced software tools such as PSS/E and PSCAD to conduct detailed power system analysis, including load flow studies, fault analysis, and stability assessments.
  • Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical direction and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide technical expertise, and present study results and recommendations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements to apply the latest techniques and methodologies in power system studies.

We’d Love You to Have:

  • Extensive Power Systems Experience: At least 10 years of experience in power systems engineering, preferably with utilities, system operators, or consultancy firms.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven people leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Expert Knowledge: Expert-level proficiency with power system analysis software such as ETAP, PSS/E, PowerFactory, PowerWorld, and/or PSCAD. Experience with multiple packages is preferred.
  • Industry Insight: Familiarity with Northeast ISO/RTO work is highly desirable.
  • Project Management Experience: Documented experience in project management, including budgeting and timelines.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required; Master’s degree or higher is strongly preferred.
  • Professional Credentials: Chartered Engineer or PE status is desirable. Management qualifications (CMgr) or a willingness to obtain them is a plus.

We Offer:

PSC is committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for substantially similar work. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At PSC it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $145,000 to $190,000.
