Job Title:

Senior Technical Business Analyst

Company:
Prologis
As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will apply your expertise in data modeling, analytics, and business process management to expand Prologis analytics data foundation. In this role, you’ll architect and develop data solutions that are critical to our analytics, reporting, and decision-making processes across the entire organization.
Working closely with business teams, you’ll design data models and products that meet business needs, deliver sustained value, and adhere to Prologis design principles. Youll assume ownership of guiding data projects through the development process, collaborating with a team of data experts, ETL developers, visualization designers and data scientists to assure the delivery of high-quality products.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Your data modeling philosophy is to make data easily and sustainably available to any user in our organization. Your architecture is influenced by Kimballs dimensional model, though you are never dogmatic – you create data models to comprehensively answer business questions. When modeling data, you always have the end user, business process, and potential future use cases in mind.
  • Delivering quality is at the core of your development process and production support. This means capturing requirements in clear, unambiguous ways. You leverage technical constructs like ERDs, BUS matrices, flow diagrams, and decision diagrams. You unit test your deliverables, write test cases, ensure your code is peer reviewed. Your code is tracked and version controlled in GitHub. All your analytics deliverables are documented with end users in mind in our data catalog. Through all this, you provide support, guidance, and mentorship to anyone in our organization that uses our data products.
  • You believe that understanding business processes is crucial to building effective data structures. A strong grasp of process frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, or BPMN is essential for success in this role.
  • You work closely with technical and functional teams, advising on process improvements and ensuring that our data models reflect the realities of the business. This collaborative approach leads to higher customer satisfaction and data solutions that truly represent our business operations.
Building blocks for success
Required:
  • 3+ years of experience and demonstrated success in leading complex data modeling projects, with a focus on creating scalable and sustainable solutions.
  • Advanced expertise in SQL, including the use of advanced concepts like CTEs and windowing functions. Experience with Snowflake is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in entity-relationship and dimensional modeling. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively using ERDs, process flows, and other visual tools.
  • You excel in managing projects from concept to completion, ensuring milestones are met and quality standards are upheld
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration techniques to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
  • Incorporate generative and traditional AI techniques to explore innovative approaches for solving complex business problems, enhancing data models, and improving overall analytics workflows.
  • You support Prologis’ AI strategy by integrating generative AI into our data and analytics ecosystem. You will play a key role in creating enterprise-wide agents and GPTs that leverage our robust data models, enabling the organization to process larger datasets and answer increasingly complex questions.
  • You bring a creative and strategic mindset, always looking for ways to leverage data and analytics to drive long-term business success.
  • You have a relentless drive to improve and perfect your work, while also recognizing when “good enough” is sufficient to meet business needs.
  • You have exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical business stakeholders.
  • An eagerness to keep up with technology advancements, changes in business trends, and a strong desire to learn.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment where change is constant and are comfortable with ambiguity, willing to pivot or start over when necessary.
Hiring Salary Range of: $98,000 – $135,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target & LTI) to be determined by the candidates location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
