ResponsibilitiesResponsible for establishing, managing and nurturing relationships with key clients, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the successful delivery of renewable energy projects. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their energy needs, offering tailored solutions, and overseeing lifecycle from proposal to contract completion. Specific duties to include, but not limited to:
Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and issues.
- Understand client needs and provide appropriate renewable energy solutions.
Sales and Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the renewable energy sector.
- Prepare and present proposals and quotations to potential clients.
- Conduct and lead due diligence process for potential new projects.
- Participate in contract negotiations and close sales to meet or exceed sales targets.
Project Coordination
- Assist in development of project budgets and prepare project handover documents and checklists. Conduct handover meetings of projects to development team.
- Collaborate with internal teams (development, land, finance, legal) to ensure project delivery.
- Oversee the progress of projects to meet contractual requirements.
- Provide regular updates to VP, BD and clients on project status through project handover to development team.
- Provide risk assessment profile and documents for projects.
Market Analysis and Strategy
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and achieve business objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and new market opportunities.
- Manage and coordinate revisions to Marketing Plan.
Customer Support
- Provide ongoing support and after-sales service to clients.
- Ensure client satisfaction and foster long-term relationships.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and project details.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and project status.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in account management and business development.
- Experience in Wind Energy. Solar and BESS experience strongly preferred.
Skills
- Strong understanding of Wind Energy and wind farm development.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable being “hands-on” and “boots on the ground.”
- High degree of emotional intelligence, working virtually in complex teams/environments.
- Proven success working with all levels of management.
- Excellent presentation skills.
Travel
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Attend in-person company meetings in Minneapolis as required if remotely located.
