Summary:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning and executing high-profile projects while partnering with key stakeholders to ensure timelines are met. The Project Manager ensures that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, and meet the quality standards of the organization. The Project Manager will be a key member of Powin’s Software Engineering team.

Job Details:

  • Partner with key project stakeholders to drive the design and development of software projects
  • Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, discuss issues, and make decisions; escalating project issues as needed
  • Responsible for actively driving towards target project margin and schedule
  • Facilitate effective team dynamics among the project team for effective delivery of a high-quality product
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans in Jira
  • Work closely with the project team on the preparation of key monthly reports, develop, maintain required tracking and reporting data files
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in project management methodologies and best practices
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the project team
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to other project managers
  • Coordinate software deliverables with hardware availability
  • Manage schedule and design change requests to understand impact to project
  • Provide regular status reports to customers, management, and internal stakeholders
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent education and experience
  • 3 year’s experience in the renewable energy sector including solar and energy storage, preferred
  • Firm understanding of the needs of renewable energy/energy storage system operators, a plus
  • 7+ years’ related work experience in a project management role with demonstrated experience managing software development projects in Agile projects
  • Experience with complex product development involving mechanical, electrical, and software systems
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate, verbally and written, technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational, planning, presentation, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
  • Experience integrating Agile with Waterfall project management methodologies
  • Experience handling a complex environment and understand a complex product definition and delivery process
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, works with a sense of urgency
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to act quickly and work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to think outside the box when faced with challenges
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, some experience with MS Project (or other scheduling software)
  • Ability to travel as needed for business
