Summary:

The EHS Program Manager will serve as a member of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team. The EHS Program Manager will be responsible for executing proactive and effective development, implementation, management, administration, and maintenance of Powin’s EHS programs in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and in alignment with Powin’s policies, objectives and goals. This position is also responsible for applying knowledge of health and safety regulations to ensure compliance and establish an injury-free work environment.

Job Details:

  • Develop and implement environmental, health and safety programs and procedures for all areas of the company, ensuring all programs are compliant with relevant regulatory requirements in United States and abroad (federal, provincial, state, local)
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Powin’s internal stakeholders in identifying gaps and needs, and defining implementation strategies
  • Monitor compliance with EHS programs and procedures and work with Powin employees and stakeholders to ensure awareness and understanding of these programs
  • Conduct annual reviews to ensure safety-related & training programs are up to date
  • Provide support and oversight to safety training programs.
  • Regularly track employee training assignments, completion, and metrics as they relate to Powin’s safety targets and goals, and provide reporting on these metrics
  • Assist EHS team in investigations and reporting regarding accidents, injuries or illnesses, fire, property damage and other safety related incidents to ensure timely and compliant resolutions. Recommend improvements based on trend analyses.
  • Facilitate safety culture guided by human performance principles and operational learning Maintain current knowledge of HSE industry best practices and technological developments and equipment to remain up to date on related systems, devices and techniques designed to identify and eliminate or minimize associated risks
  • Define and own key metrics and KPIs that track program quality and performance indicators
  • Perform site health and safety investigations to ensure proper corrective and preventative measures have been implemented
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health and Safety, or other related degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience developing EHS programs
  • Areas of expertise include control of hazardous energy, electrical safety standards, PPE, work at heights, fall protection, lifting and rigging, and ergonomics
  • Able to develop strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety standards and regulations in regions Powin operates within
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with and leading multiple levels within an organization
  • Experience using risk assessment processes, including knowledge of risk management practices and root cause analysis
  • Working knowledge of cross-functional EHS disciplines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication and collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across levels and functions
  • Experience using an incident and near miss reporting systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines and prioritize responsibilities and pivot focus quickly as necessary
