POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Manager is responsible for working directly with customers, subcontractors, permitting jurisdictions, utility companies, and internal staff to coordinate the installation of residential solar projects. The person in this role will need to be highly organized and have exceptional communication skills. This full-time position reports to the Regional Project Manager Lead and regular hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00. This position requires a combination of office work as well as work on the job site.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time.
  • Display full ownership of projects from initial client communication through final completion, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
  • Proactively manage and communicate with customers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution and swift resolution of any issues that arise.
  • Use project management software to maintain real-time updates on project progress, resources, and risks, providing visibility to all relevant parties.
  • Lead the coordination and scheduling of site surveys, subcontractor work, and installations, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Facilitate approvals from HOAs and other local jurisdictions, navigating any challenges efficiently.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with electric utility companies and permitting agencies to streamline approval processes.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, increasing efficiency and quality across the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to keep the team aligned and informed.
  • Work closely with the Regional Superintendent to coordinate installation schedules.
  • Liaise with the Warehouse team to ensure timely procurement and delivery of necessary materials.
  • Be adaptable and ready to manage or coordinate jobs in different geographic regions as needed.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, being available to meet with clients, subcontractors, and general contractors at short notice when necessary to address critical project needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must have demonstrated skills and qualifications in the following areas:

  • Project Management experience is required.
  • Experience with construction contracts, managing subcontractor and vendor relationships, and coordination of field activities is preferred.
  • General construction/trade understanding.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of PV solar is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to set priorities.
  • Desire to work in a high performance environment.
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Must have a personal vehicle to be used for work.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Able to sit or stand at a desk for up to 8 hours per day, ability to climb ladders, walk on roofs, walk on uneven ground
