Piper Maddox has just been engaged in a confidential search, by a rapidly growing DG IPP based out of the Washington DC region, in support of finding their next Director/VP of Project Finance.
This is an organization that has been operating for 8 years already, and has amassed an impressive project flow of roughly 100MW of fully operational assets, with the funding and pipeline to triple their year-over-year project growth over the next several years. They have a relatively unique value-proposition to the market, as their core market segment is within the context of urban C&I/DG/community solar, with operational assets in many of the country’s major cities. While they are only adding 15-20MW of operational assets in a given year at this point in time, this spans across up to 50 different projects, as urban environments cannot support larger systems.
Due to this unique structure, the financing activities are complex, and take lots of creative and strategic thinking as it relates to optimizing transactional structure, and requires a true SME with extensive experience leveraging considerations found within the IRA to close deals.
The organization’s backing is also robust, with an established tax-equity fund from on the region’s leading financiers of clean energy, and solid relationships with many of the leading banks in the space.
They are looking for a Director/VP of Project Finance, to act as the deal-lead, and team captain for the organization, and lead all the capital raising efforts for the organization.
The ideal candidate would have:
-at least 7 years of professional experience in renewable energy project finance
-successfully secured tax equity capital to finance clean energy assets
-the ability to live in or relocate to Washington DC.
