Sr. HV Engineer (Utility Scale Solar) – Remote Based

Piper Maddox is currently engaged in a search with a forward-thinking company organically growing in the Utility-Scale Solar sphere. You will join the team as the Subject Matter Expert for all things High Voltage related within the interconnection realm.

In this role, you will be working on the interconnection process, (not the whole process, mainly just at facility study and later stage.

You will also be supporting project engineers to facilitate design review and approval by external OE’s and working with procurement on specifications for long lead HV equipment like breakers and GSU’s

The ideal candidate would have:

• Over 4+ years of experience in any combination of interconnection, HV substation design, transmission design, or protection and control design.
• A Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
• A solid understanding of HV electrical principles, including HV and MV equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret general arrangement, one-line, control schematics, and other drawings related to HV design and equipment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software is preferred.
• Support development, preconstruction, and construction project teams in aligning HV scope with interconnection requirements, and assist in coordinating with the RTO/utility until the projects are transferred to Asset Management.
