Job Description

Piper Maddox is partnering with a leading company in the organic waste-to-renewable energy sector to find a skilled Engineering Manager. As the company plans to expand to over 150 facilities by 2026, they are seeking a talented individual to guide and support their ambitious growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Oversee engineering activities, including research and development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Team Management: Lead a team in the specification, design, analysis, and verification of new components and systems.
  • Supplier and Quality Oversight: Establish and manage relationships with suppliers, set part quality standards, and develop assembly and testing procedures.
  • Project Planning: Develop detailed resource plans and schedules to meet technical objectives, including new product and design development.
  • Technical Review: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the team’s work and methodologies.
  • Design Coordination: Supervise the design and implementation of equipment and machinery.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with other management levels to integrate engineering activities with overall business objectives.
  • Task Management: Oversee a variety of engineering tasks related to design, development, construction, commissioning, and operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
  • Experience: At least 8 years of engineering experience, with a proven track record in managing complex projects involving multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Industry Experience: Background in industrial engineering or the energy sector preferred. Experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering is a plus.
  • Project Scope: Experience managing projects with budgets between $50k and $1.5M.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with construction, operations, and commissioning teams.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
