Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Battery Storage Electrical Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge and expertise in battery storage systems, with a strong focus on electrical engineering. This role will involve leading the design, development, and implementation of advanced battery storage solutions, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability.
The Role:
This role will play a key supporting role to the origination, development, and construction teams as the technical SME in Energy Storage. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the following phases:

Permitting: Work through permitting cycles, leveraging an understanding of fire codes and UL standards to help navigate and secure project permits.

Commissioning: Commission C&I energy storage systems in urban areas. Familiarity with control systems and checklists necessary for successful commissioning is essential.

Construction and Interconnection: Support construction and interconnection work to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical expert on battery storage systems, providing guidance and mentorship to engineering teams. Lead the design and development of innovative battery storage solutions.

System Design: Develop and optimize electrical designs for battery storage systems, including schematic design, component selection, and system integration. Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Project Management: Manage and oversee battery storage projects from conception to completion. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Performance Analysis: Conduct detailed performance analysis and testing of battery storage systems. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance system efficiency and reliability.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure all battery storage systems comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to mitigate potential hazards.

Innovation and Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in battery storage technology. Conduct research and development to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and operational manuals. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Client Support: Provide technical support and expertise to clients, addressing inquiries and resolving technical issues. Conduct training sessions and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Professional certification is a plus.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on battery storage systems. Proven track record of successful project management and technical leadership.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PSpice, MATLAB). Strong understanding of battery chemistry, power electronics, and energy management systems.

Permitting Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fire codes and UL standards related to battery storage systems.

Commissioning Expertise: Hands-on experience commissioning C&I energy storage systems in urban areas, with familiarity in control systems and commissioning checklists.
