Permitting and Environmental Project Manager, Community Solar / Utility Scale Solar

We are seeking an Environmental and Permitting Project Manager to join our respected partner, a leading multi-technology Renewable Energy Developer with a focus on Community Solar / Utility Scale / and other renewable energy sources. This individual will manage environmental surveying and permitting required at the state and federal levels; and enhance the existing environmental capabilities whilst expanding our partners project site presence by managing the NEPA and SEQRA process for renewable energy projects.

Position Summary

As Environmental and Permitting Project Manager in the Environmental Affairs and Permitting Division, your responsibilities are as follows:

  • Successfully manage environmental surveying and permitting required at the state and federal levels for renewable energy projects
  • The technical areas encompassed by this position include environmental studies; environmental and land use permitting at local, state, and federal levels; site development; computer skills, including GIS; project and program management; and other various environmental services.
  • Project and program management in a dynamic work environment
  • Collaborate with the full renewable energy department across integrated teams
  • Work shall be performed with and without the aid of consultant teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree with strong academic record in environmental sciences, natural sciences, engineering, planning or related discipline from an accredited program.
  • Two plus years applicable experience in project management, environmental permitting, or real estate development, ideally related to renewable or conventional energy development.
  • Knowledge of the following is beneficial: National Environmental Policy Act, State Environmental Quality Review, Local Land Use Permitting, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, State Conservation and Wildlife Agencies, Federal and state historic preservation
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required to develop and maintain understanding and relationships.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively individually as well as with a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a quickly changing environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
