Are you a Day Ahead (DA) Trader with a passion for the U.S. Power Markets? We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead DA commercial model development and decision-making for grid-scale storage resources. This fully remote role offers flexibility across the U.S. with occasional travel once or twice a quarter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead DA commercial model development for grid-scale storage resources.
  • Execute DA processes for multiple client portfolios, collaborating closely with RT traders.
  • Develop portfolio management strategies for energy storage, wind, and solar assets, focusing on transmission congestion within ERCOT and other wholesale power markets.
  • Work with data scientists and software engineers to define performance metrics, market rules, and commercial strategies for new internal products.
  • Communicate portfolio management strategies to clients, tailoring internal tools to meet their risk parameters.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience trading virtual and/or asset-backed positions in at least one major U.S. Power Market (ERCOT preferred).
  • Experience building and maintaining models for trading or risk management, particularly with congestion-related products like point-to-points or FTRs/CRRs.
  • Proficiency in Excel & Python, with comfort managing large datasets.
  • Strong understanding of finance, mathematics, and statistics, with a passion for trading in U.S. Power markets.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to make sound judgments under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience managing energy storage resources.
  • Knowledge of structuring products related to carbon offsets or financing renewables.
  • Familiarity with financial derivatives, options greeks, market-making, and market microstructure.
  • Confidence in presenting to clients, board members, and prospective clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team shaping the future of energy trading. If you have a quantitative approach to trading, experience with fundamental modelling, and enjoy working with big data, we want to hear from you!
