Position Specific Description

Palms Insurance is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc., and manages both its captive, Palms Cayman (which focuses on providing NextEra flexible and comprehensive insurance) and non-affiliate insurance entity Palms Specialty (a fast-growing specialty insurer and reinsurer serving to further diversify NextEra’s overall insurance portfolio and contribute to overall profitability).

As a Senior Business Analyst in Strategy, you will be responsible for supporting the strategic initiatives and executing various projects within our diverse insurance landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating annual presentation materials for the Palms executives to present to an insurance credit agency by coordinating with various business units, and working with the Palms CFO/finance team to ensure data accuracy and completeness submitted to the credit agency
  • Assist in conducting market research, competitor analysis, and industry trends to identify opportunities and challenges in the insurance market
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to support the execution of strategic projects including data analysis, preparing presentations, and generating insights to inform decision-making
  • Assist in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting for strategic initiatives and projects
  • Participate in ad-hoc assignment and prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and updates to communicate project progress and outcomes to stakeholders

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts analyses and prepares reports that provide operational and/or technical support to business operations
  • Conducts quantitative and qualitative research to support small to medium special projects
  • Assists with process design and modification for continuous business improvement
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 4+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
