Palmetto Finance is a branch of Palmetto focused on the democratization of the renewable energy industry. We provide homeowners with financial products to benefit from solar power, home efficiency products, and energy storage systems. We empower solar sales professionals and solar installation companies with access to our proprietary platform, financing, customer management system, and milestone submission system. Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Compliance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analyzing complex data sets and advanced proficiency in spreadsheet tools. This role is critical in ensuring that our operations comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies within the rapidly evolving solar finance industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance:
  • Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local regulations relevant to the solar finance industry to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures in alignment with requirements.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments, identifying and addressing potential risks and violations.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Analyze complex datasets to identify compliance trends, patterns, and potential areas of concern.
    • Utilize advanced spreadsheet skills to organize, interpret, and present data effectively.
    • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards summarizing compliance findings and recommendations for senior management.
  • Policy Development and Implementation:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and update compliance-related documentation, including manuals, guidelines, and training materials.
    • Ensure effective communication and dissemination of compliance policies across the organization.
    • Provide training and support to staff on compliance matters and best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated on industry developments, emerging risks, and best practices in compliance and data analysis.
    • Proactively suggest enhancements to compliance processes and data management systems.
    • Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving overall compliance effectiveness.

    Qualifications

    • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Law, or a related field. Preferred, but not required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance roles within the finance or renewable energy sector, preferably in solar finance.
    • Proven experience in analyzing complex data sets and reporting findings to various stakeholders.
    • Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks and standards applicable to the finance and energy industries.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert proficiency in Google sheets and other spreadsheet applications, including advanced functions, pivot tables, macros, and data visualization tools.
    • Understanding of financial products and services related to the renewable energy industry.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
    • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
