Overview

Ocean Winds is a 50/50 joint venture of EDP Renewables and ENGIE, two of the biggest players in energy. Both companies share the vision in which renewables, particularly offshore wind, play a key role in the global energy transition. With 1.5 GW in operation, 0.9 GW under construction, and 14.2 GW under development, Ocean Winds’ mission is to make offshore wind one of the main sources of renewable energy by delivering more efficient and sustainable wind energy solutions. OW is a global player, bringing together the expertise and development capacity of both companies.

Southcoast Wind is a highly competitive 2400MW project and is owned by Ocean Winds. Ocean Winds are developing a lease area on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf. The lease area (OCS-A-0521) is located approximately 30 miles south of Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard. The project is currently under development and planned to be completed in 2030.

The Interface Engineer will join the Integration team at Southcoast Wind and will be responsible for defining, tracking, and managing the workstream responsibility interfaces for Southcoast Wind Project 1.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, monitor, and manage the workstream responsibility technical interfaces
  • Ensure the interfaces are clearly defined and understood between packages, liaise with each workstream and with department management
  • Own interface matrices which define the division of responsibility between the Company and the Contractors, regarding the interfaces of each work package. Ensure there are no gaps or overlaps between the various scopes
  • Ensure timely transfer of design data and information in line with interface registers.
  • Lead interface workshops and support interactions with external stakeholders as required. Track and close out identified interface issues
  • Liaise with project planner to ensure interfaces are captured within project programme
  • Work closely with all packages to identify and mitigate interface risks and provide timely inputs and updates to project risk register
  • Implement a “no change” mentality with regards to interfaces after scope definition and contract signature
  • Promote communication on interfaces (and in particular regarding change in interface data) within and outside the packages
  • Record, follow-up and reporting of KPI’s as well as other statistics measuring quality of the Interface co-ordination
  • Liaise with document manager and ensure proper record keeping of all interface activities
  • Execute project archiving and handover to the next project phase / Operations
  • The Interface Engineer will directly influence package managers, equipment manufacturers and construction contractors to meet the Project’s requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Recommended 5 years of relevant work experience on large scale projects during execution phase, offshore wind energy experience a plus
  • Contract management experience recommended
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Science required.
  • PMP Certification strongly preferred

Location: Boston, MA – Hybrid

Pay: $100k – $130k
