Program Manager- Engineer, Construction, Operations

Program Manager| Renewable Energy | Solar EPC & AM | Full Turnkey Operations | Northeast/ Remote + Travel | Permanent, Full-Time | Salary Dependent on Experience

Role:

Lead the portfolio management and construction teams in building commercial, industrial, municipal, and community-scale solar projects ranging in size from 700 kW to 10 MW. Drive the commissioning & testing teams in designing, planning, performance management and process development.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with multiple teams and internal business partners to drive increased performance.
  • Comprehend and ensure compliance with applicable environmental, interconnection, transmission operator and client rules, regulations, and standards. Capable of understanding and complying with the contractual terms outlined in various agreements and contracts.
  • Perform design submission reviews to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform review and analysis of commissioning plan, commissioning agent qualifications, and commissioning report.
  • Perform review and analysis of testing and summary reports throughout the lifecycle of the construction project. To include:
  1. Insulation resistance testing (IRT) or Megger testing
  2. Polarity testing
  3. System performance testing
  4. Independent engineer certification
  • Review and validate system as built submission.
  • Demonstrate analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to use hard data or metrics to develop business cases.
  • Recognize and proactively drive opportunities to simplify processes.
  • Identify, assess, track, and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels.
  • Draft and prepare various forms of written communications to project management, subcontractors, and client technical support personnel.
  • Able and willing to grow into other technologies, such as fuel cells, geo-thermal, etc

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in mid-sized solar construction and/or engineering.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing inhouse teams and third-party subcontractors.
  • Professional Engineering License highly preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with solar construction and electrical codes.
  • Background in solar engineering, construction, and/or operations and maintenance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Project, and Visio. Experience with SAP desired.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
