ORC is seeking a full-time, non-exempt GIS Technician to be based in the Charlotte, NC area. The selected candidate will work remotely from their home office and report to the Charlotte office as needed.
What you will be doing:
As a GIS Technician, you will be responsible for the creation of successful and accurate deliverables for related GIS projects, which includes tracking GIS issues in detail while creating direct process enhancements to eliminate redundant tasks and inefficiencies. The selected candidate will be responsible for training users on proper GIS system use and data entry practices. The GIS Technician will maintain accurate and detailed cases in the GIS Ticket System. The selected candidate will interface with employees and clients in a professional and patient manner.

Physical Requirements: English language proficient. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high amounts of computer usage, typing and document manipulation. Expected to spend long hours in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. This is a largely sedentary role; however, the employee occasionally is required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. Rare is travel required.
