If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy, reporting directly to the Project Manager, to join our Consulting team based in Houston, Texas.

About The Job

The Senior Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy will Lead and support electrical engineering in offshore/onshore oil and gas and wind/solar projects during concept, pre-FEED, with a focus on the electrical architecture of the project including offshore/onshore substations, power cables. Lead in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of electrical engineering work. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also participate in Electrical discipline activities including preparation and checking of documents, philosophies, specifications, procedures, standards, data sheets, calculations, MTO, etc and Coordinate systems design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in electrical engineering.
  • PE license preferable.
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in the electrical design of institutional buildings, industrial plants, commercial or residential, or renewable resource farms is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in renewable power including power studies.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment for electrical distribution systems including the selection of equipment (transformers, metal clad switchgear), materials, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications.
  • Three or more years of experience in leading an engineering design team through all phases of a project design.
  • Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design.
  • Experience with creating construction work package designs, scheduling, and construction services.
  • Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings/documents created by others.
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation design experience.
  • Strong written and communication skills are essential.

Main Skills

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in renewable power including power studies
  • The candidate should be able to perform most of the Process activities with little supervision.
  • The candidate should have demonstrated a strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Must be a self-starter and committed to team success.
