About the Client: Odin Global is excited to partner with a leading community-scale solar developer in the United States, dedicated to driving the expansion of renewable energy across the country. Our client is focused on developing community solar projects that deliver clean, affordable energy to local communities. As they continue to grow their portfolio, they are seeking an experienced and strategic Head/VP of Interconnection to lead their interconnection efforts and ensure the successful integration of their solar projects into the grid.

Position Overview: The Head/VP of Interconnection will be a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire interconnection process for community solar projects. This role involves managing the technical and regulatory aspects of connecting solar projects to the grid, ensuring compliance with utility and state requirements, and optimizing project timelines. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the interconnection process within the renewable energy sector, with a strong focus on community-scale solar projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the interconnection strategy for community solar projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective integration into the grid.
• Lead and manage the interconnection team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to enhance team performance and achieve project goals.
• Assess current team capabilities, identify skill gaps, and strategically build and expand the team as project demands and company growth necessitate.
• Oversee the interconnection application process, including the submission of necessary documentation, coordination with utilities, and tracking of project progress.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with utility companies, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders to facilitate smooth interconnection processes.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, including adherence to interconnection standards and timelines.
• Optimize interconnection processes by identifying and implementing best practices, improving efficiency, and reducing project timelines.
• Manage the existing interconnection team, providing leadership, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and effective execution of responsibilities.
• Assess current team capabilities and lead efforts to expand and enhance the team as the organization grows and project demands increase.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, including project development, engineering, and finance, to align interconnection efforts with overall project goals and timelines.
• Stay informed of changes in regulations, utility policies, and industry trends that could impact the interconnection process and proactively adapt strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in managing interconnection processes within the renewable energy sector, particularly with community-scale solar projects.
• Proven track record of successfully navigating interconnection applications and negotiations with utility companies.
• Strong understanding of utility regulations, grid operations, and interconnection standards in the United States.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, with the ability to build and scale teams effectively as the organization grows.
• Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on meeting deadlines and optimizing project timelines.
