Job Description

  • Support the continuous improvement and execution of Haile Gold Mines purchasing strategy, policies, and guidelines; accountable for value-added, cost savings, and other performance metrics.
  • Perform market analysis to allow competitive bidding for proposals that ensure the company is obtaining pricing and cost that are representative of an open market for best value.
  • Maintain confidentiality pertaining to the bidding and procurement process.
  • Interact with operating divisions internally on regular basis to absolutely understand procurement requirements.
  • Process and approve purchase orders for material, equipment, and services.
  • Report on inventory valuation, purchase order status, and unit costs.
  • Provide suggestions to improve transactional practices for activities related to the materials purchasing process.
  • Ensure timely and professional service to user departments in the execution of purchase orders.
  • Expedite, track, and report on all open orders.
  • Know and comply with the current Mining Safety and Health regulations and Haile Gold Mine Supply Chain policies.
  • All other duties as reasonably required.

Qualifications

  • Two years of purchasing/warehousing experience in a related field preferred.
  • Mining experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Pronto, Oracle, SAP, or equivalent enterprise level software package preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasive skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of suppliers, employees, and management.
  • Good time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize work is essential.
  • Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
