Job Description

The ESG Data Analyst collects, manages, and works to improve the precision and quality of ESG related data; ensures data accuracy; analyzes findings; and calculates and tracks ESG data. The Analyst will work with a cross-functional team to develop, implement, and track the effectiveness of sustainability and greenhouse gas emissions reduction measures and their financial returns. This team member also assists in preparing the Companys internal and external ESG reporting and disclosures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Work cross-functionally to collect, organize, and analyze all data necessary for the Companys internal and external ESG reporting and disclosures. Establish and implement a process to ensure timely and accurate collection of ESG data for reporting purposes. Update and maintain ESG data repositories.

Audit ESG data for precision, quality, and completeness, including working with third-party data assurance providers, as necessary.

Identify and recommend best practices to continuously improve quality, precision, accuracy, and granularity of data, collaborating with consultants and third-party suppliers as necessary.

Calculate and track scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in accordance with GHG protocol standards.

Work with ESG Director, and ESG Reporting Manager, to track progress towards GHG reduction targets for scopes 1, 2, and 3.

Participate in the Abatement Committee and subcommittees to identify, implement, track and measure scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions abatement initiatives, including modeling energy savings and financial impact of such initiatives in order to determine impact on meeting GHG reduction targets.

Partner with ESG Reporting Manager, ESG Committee, and other relevant stakeholders to draft and submit internal and external ESG reporting and disclosures, including the annual Environmental, Social and Governance report and the Companys CDP submission.

Provide project and initiative support to the ESG team, to develop meaningful insights and make informed recommendations that will influence decisions. This includes benchmark analysis, market research, and other projects as requested.

Provide insight and guidance regarding ESG data reporting methodology, frameworks, and disclosure systems such as GHG Protocol, CDP, TCFD, ISSB and SBTi, as well as regulatory reporting requirements. Stay up to date on evolving guidance and reporting requirements.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelors degree or certificate in a relevant field, such as Data/Computer Science, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Environmental Science or Management, Management Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, etc.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to retrieve and manipulate data using Microsoft query, formulas, pivot tables and macros

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of the organization

Excellent time management skills supporting multiple projects with different objectives, milestones and deliverables

Desired:

2-3 years of relevant professional experience

Knowledge of GHG Protocol Corporate Standard

Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks such as CDP, TCFD, and SBTi

Experience in carbon accounting, including GHG inventory development

Experience translating GHG emissions findings into actionable recommendations for target setting and decarbonization
