Job Description

As a Travel Superintendent, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of retail reroofing projects at various locations. Your expertise in roofing systems, construction methods, and project management, combined with your ability to lead and motivate teams, will ensure the successful execution of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Coordination:
  • Collaborate with project managers and estimators to review project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Develop detailed project execution plans, including resource allocation, material procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Coordinate and schedule project activities, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to project timelines.
  • Monitor and track project progress, identifying and addressing any deviations or obstacles.

  • Team Leadership and Supervision:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to onsite project teams, including roofing crews, subcontractors, and support staff.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback, coaching, and training as needed.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, safety, and quality.

  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess workmanship, safety practices, and quality control measures.
  • Implement corrective actions to address any deficiencies or non-compliance.
  • Collaborate with the safety team to promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the project sites.

  • Client Communication and Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for retail store managers, addressing any project-related inquiries or concerns.
  • Conduct regular meetings with project management teams to provide project updates, address issues, and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring client satisfaction and addressing any issues promptly and effectively.

  • Budget and Cost Control:
  • Monitor project costs and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to effectively maintain project budgets.

  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Handle additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; relevant certifications or vocational training in construction or roofing is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial roofing, with a focus on retail reroofing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of roofing systems, construction techniques, and safety practices.
  • Proven experience in project management and supervising construction teams.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.
  • Team player attitude is a must.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work on project sites located throughout the region.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permit processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to climb a 40-foot ladder and lift heavy objects.
  • Willingness to travel year-round.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • OSHA certification or willingness to complete certification.
