Job Summary
This role will oversee, develop, pilot, supervise, and lead the operational requirements of the current and future renewable assets within generation. The Electrical Engineer Renewable Assets is also responsible for participating in the engineering and construction process for our current renewable project builds.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing and coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support or testing activities
- Perform detailed reviews of all newly developed renewable processes and procedures
- Conduct thorough reviews of all electrical drawings and ensure proper storage within the data repository
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Transfer and organize all as-built documentation to the operations team
- Ensure oversight of construction progress both remotely and via on-site inspections to ensure a quality product is being delivered that is consistent with the contractual requirements from an electrical perspective
- Recommend resolution of any field issues at on-site meetings with mechanical construction contractors and in person coordination meetings with interconnection utilities.
- Navigate and analyze data in the various Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
- Verify manufacturers instructions and procedures are being followed
- Maintain an accurate product data repository by validating field data
- Travel required at least 10-20%

- Oversee the construction progress both remotely and via on-site inspections to ensure a quality product is being delivered that is consistent with the contractual requirements from an electrical perspective

Required Qualifications for Position
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited engineering program
- Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and talent for accuracy and precision
- Ability to coordinate and manage projects with multiple levels of interface between outside consultants and other stakeholders
- Ability to use personal computers and use associated engineering software
- Working knowledge of NEC, NESC, ASCE and ANSI/IEEE standards and codes
- Good planning, organizational, verbal and written communications skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Versatility and flexibility due to a newly create role
- Valid Motor Vehicle License

- Knowledge with renewable assets (solar and wind)

- Team lead for NERC/FERC compliance

- Transfer and organize all as-built documentation to the operations team

Electrical Engineer III Renewable Assets
All duties and responsibilities performed as an Engineer/Specialist II plus:
- Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by conducting research and drawing reviews to ensure consistency between stakeholders
- Interface and collaborate with the OEMs, vendors, developers, and specific site staff to determine & decide business needs
- Act as the lead liaison and responsible party for generation NERC and FERC requirements from an electrical perspective
- Establish construction, manufacturing or installation standards or specifications from a NIPSCO owner perspective
- Act as the technical lead in the overall renewable IT OT system integration for future and current renewable assets
- Evaluate, oversee implementation, and validate upgrades to apply to future renewable acquisitions when comparing assets currently in operation
- Ensure all construction and operational requirements are in alignment for the future O&M structure among all NiSource O&M business users
- Act as the NIPSCO generation representative for all critical owner and interconnection requirements
- Perform ad hoc requests from the renewable asset management team
- Be a lead and Advisor in conjunction with EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute) and other industry experts to ensure NIPSCO business needs are in line with current and future industry standards
Required Qualifications for Position

$77,400.00 – $136,600.00
