What We’re Looking For

Nexamp is hiring a Vice President of Clean Energy Deployment (CED) Operations, tasked with overseeing the Pre-Deployment (Pre-Construction), Estimation, Environment and Health Safety, financial portfolio management, and the organization’s workforce development program teams to ensure seamless organizational integration to bolster financial outcomes. This pivotal role involves evaluating and mitigating project risks, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving cross-functional collaboration to enhance CED Operations’ interoperability within the company. A cornerstone of success in this position is the ability to meet or surpass margin objectives and facilitate increased Substantial Completion throughput. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional leadership qualities, with a focus on motivating teams directly and indirectly outside their sphere of influence. Utilizing continuous improvement strategies, you will lead initiatives to elevate internal productivity, integrate project value engineering initiatives, focusing on cost and schedule efficiencies. A critical aspect of this role includes refining project lifecycle processes to minimize rework, streamline manual tasks, and implement best practices, ultimately achieving higher quality and cost-effectiveness through standardization and automation.

We are accepting candidates across our hub offices of Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, and Washington, DC where you will be hybrid. You will report to the SVP, Clean Energy Deployment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the project risk identification and mitigation efforts for the Company
  • Lead five areas of organizational effort: Pre-Deployment, 2. Estimation, 3. CED Project Financial Execution, 4. Organizational Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), 5. Environment Social and Governance (ESG) issues and 6. CED Workforce Development Program implementation
  • The job duties for a Vice President, CED Operations typically include:
  • Pre-Deployment includes overseeing the pre-construction phase of projects, including planning, estimating, and scheduling to identify project risk and lead mitigation efforts
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of CED Operations processes and technologies in collaboration with Business Development, Channel, Legal, Finance and CED leadership to optimize project risk reduction efforts
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to the estimating team to ensure accurate and competitive pricing, accurate cost tracking, and integrated scheduling
  • Coordinating cross-functionally with the organization to align project objectives and plans to support debt and tax equity execution
  • Provide guidance on all organizational EH&S needs including reporting, incident management, policy implementation, insurance claim tracking, and strategy development and execution
  • Work with CED Leadership, General Counsel, and other ESG stakeholders to manage and report out on ESG activities
  • Provide guidance and insight into CED workforce development programs i.e. Solar Sunrise and Clean Energy Catalyst to ensure successful execution of the programs
  • Develop and facilitate a lean operational culture that pushes a highly productive workforce that is seamlessly integrated internally and with associated business units minimizing bottlenecks

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years solar and/or storage field operations at DG and/or utility scale level, preferably with experience in a PV and/or storage Project Manager role
  • 5+ years cross-functional project leadership with experience leading strategic planning and implementation
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in continuous process improvement, experienced or certified in Quality or Process Excellence methodologies preferred
  • Experience managing a team, creating a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across the business
  • Team player who can collaborate in developing strategies and provide forward thinking solutions
  • Commitment to Nexamp’s mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow’s climate crisis today.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.

  • Previous experience engaging and inspiring teams to excel while focusing on the growth and well-being of team members.
