What we’re looking for:

Nexamp is growing their Deployment team and seeking to hire a Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Deployment Director. You should have a strong knowledge of policies and procedures in the Commercial and Industrial PV Solar and Storage market. Understanding the opportunities available to these businesses is key in developing sustainable relationships and ensuring a reputable business model. You will help identify viable projects through a variety of metrics developed with your vast experience with a successful project history of development and construction. You will work closely with Development, Engineering, Estimation, Procurement and Pre- Deployment to ensure project viability. You will also work closely with the Project Management Team, Field Operations and Commissioning to deliver quality projects on time and within budget. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with C&I Business Development Team and the Clean Energy Deployment (CED) Team. You will work with CED project managers, and act as Nexamp’s lead liaison to external EPCs for all C&I Projects including but not limited to Solar, Solar and Storage, rooftop & carport.

We are supporting fully remote work for this role, but ideally this role will be hybrid out of one of our hub offices of Boston or Chicago. You will be expected to travel up to 30% across project sites. You will report to the VP, Deployment

What you’ll do:

  • Work as the lead liaison for the Nexamp Clean Energy Deployment teams and the C&I Development teams.
  • Works closely with Development to vet and identify viable C&I PV Solar and Storage Construction opportunities.
  • Works closely with Development to identify potential rebates, adders, or grants (i.e. USDA REAP Grants) to increase project viability.
  • Works closely with Development and Deployment to forecast potential obstacles pre-construction.
  • Works closely with Engineering and GRIT to offset customer utility needs to increase project viability.
  • Works with Development and Engineering to provide all opportunities for businesses with high usage rates.
  • Works closely with Interconnection Engineers to identify any obstacles and ensure accurate design parameters.
  • Assessment of Utility infrastructure. Utilizes existing contacts.
  • Assessment of Structural Integrities. Utilizes existing contacts.
  • Develop and train a highly efficient team of site surveyors and design data collectors.
  • Research and implement efficient and accurate site survey equipment.
  • Works closely with Estimation on accurate pricing.
  • Work closely with Procurement on equipment ordering and bill of materials.
  • Identify and onboard highly efficient and competitive EPCs. Work closely with Project Managers to negotiate competitive pricing, scope of work and schedule.
  • Develop sustainable relationships with PUC officials.
  • Work closely with GRIT and Commissioning to ensure annual deadlines are met to capitalize on customer tax appetites.
  • Develop vendor and manufacture relationships along with the Supply Chain team.
  • Work with EH&S to develop best practices for pre-construction data collection.
  • Continuous research into more efficient installation techniques and equipment.

What you’ll bring:

  • Three or more years of industry experience in C&I solar construction
  • Integration of PV and/or energy storage systems
  • Commercial solar and storage business model understanding
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in construction, Engineering or Business study or equivalent work experience
  • Commitment to Nexamp’s mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow’s climate crisis today
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions
