Position Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Design Engineer with a passion for commercial solar systems. This pivotal role involves transforming innovative design concepts into precise technical drawings using AutoCAD. You will collaborate with interconnection, permitting, sales operations, and project management teams to ensure our solar energy projects are executed seamlessly. If you have a knack for detail and a drive for excellence in sustainable energy solutions, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting and Design:

  • Produce detailed and accurate technical drawings for commercial, industrial, and agricultural solar photovoltaic and storage projects using AutoCAD design software.
  • Translate design concepts into comprehensive construction documents in collaboration with engineers and project managers.

Project Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align design specifications with project requirements.
  • Support the design needs of all stages of the project to ensure seamless execution.

Quality Control:

  • Perform rigorous reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
  • Address and resolve any discrepancies identified during the review process.

Documentation:

  • Maintain organized project documentation, including revisions and design changes.
  • Assist in preparing technical documents for project submittals.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all commercial solar projects comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Work closely with permitting and compliance teams to accelerate time-to-approvals.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD with a minimum of 2 years of drafting experience.
  • Thorough understanding of photovoltaic energy production and storage systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and electrical line diagrams.
  • Familiarity with Excel and Bluebeam or Adobe software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work and meeting project milestones.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts.

Experience:

  • AutoCAD: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Photovoltaic System Design: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Producing Electrical Diagrams: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Drafting Design/Construction Documents: 1 years (Preferred)
