Position Summary
In addition to its 300 days of annual sunshine, breathtaking scenery, and reputation for some of the country’s best brews, Denver ranks among the top 10 in Forbes ‘Best cities for dogs 2024’ list. We are honored to have a strong presence in this mile-high city, as we have been operating here since 1930. Initially focused on producing livestock feed, the plant transitioned into a pet food-only manufacturer in 1972. Notably, our Denver location became the first-ever pet food factory to harness the power of solar energy. We take great pride in our sustainable practices, as we currently produce 260,134 tons annually of Dog Chow, Cat Chow, Kit n Kaboodle, Alpo, Beneful, Nestl Purina ONE Beyond, Nestl Purina ONE, and Pro Plan in an environmentally friendly manner.
As a Factory Manager, you play a crucial role as the representative of your location to internal associates, our broader company, and the local community while leading the factory in sustaining peak performance. Utilizing your strong problem-solving skills, you will identify and address operational challenges while collaborating effectively with cross-functional Purina teams through clear and efficient communication. Managing stakeholder relationships and ensuring smooth operations within the factory will be integral to your responsibilities. Your expertise in project management, specifically within budget and timeline constraints, will be critical in achieving success.
  • Plan, organize, and lead the factory team to achieve objectives in safety, environment, quality, cost, and service, actively driving focused improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all company principles, policies, local laws, and regulations, including health, food safety, and regulatory requirements for all manufactured products.
  • Analyze production data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to optimize factory operations.
  • Foster the development of the factory management team and staff through performance management, career development, succession planning, and coaching.
  • Effectively manage employee and industrial relations to ensure smooth operations. Build and maintain positive community relations.
  • Ensure the full implementation of all aspects of Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE), including the structured and agreed-upon implementation of Total Performance Management (TPM) on all lines, guided by the Business and Technical Manager.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • 10+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • 4+ years of experience working with factory budgets is required.
Other
  • Experience with Total Performance Management (TPM) or Lean Management Principles is preferred.
  • Technical bachelor’s degree is preferred.
The approximate pay range for this position is $155,000 to $226,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
