Objective: Analyze Solar CAD drawings to ensure smooth process from permitting to final inspections
Duties and Responsibilities:
Read and understand CAD drawings
Review CAD drawings for completeness, accuracy and compliance
Identify and/or recommend requirements for corrections to increase efficiency in the electrical plan
Design solutions for complex and complicated projects
Collaborate with Installation Leadership and team to find engineering compromises to conflicting requirements and priorities
Create material lists (BOM) for installs including roof parts and electrical equipment
Revise plans to match install photos in preparation for city inspections
Troubleshoot issues that installers run into on the field to include roof layout, shading, system monitoring, electrical issues, or answering NEC questions
Use understanding of NEC code to interpret city corrections
Provide technical assistance to company employees regarding CAD and NEC code
Provide insight and recommendations in the development of new standards as well as updates to existing standards.
Occasionally travel to job sites to assist when required

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or University intern with qualifying skills
Sufficient level of solar installation and electrical experience to achieve proficiency in reviewing CAD
NEC knowledge
Solar Experience (preferred)
Nabcep certificate (Preferred)
