The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of Supply Chain Risk Specialists to join our team on a Full Time, Permanent basis!

The Supply Chain Risk Specialist will support the Supply Chain Risk Manager to understand, measure and analyze the performance of National Grids supply chain, providing insights to Global Procurement Leadership and Category Teams.

National Grid is leading the charge towards a Net Zero future in the UK and NE of USA. We recognize that decarbonizing our electric and gas systems will require resolving many questions and seeking new partnerships, technologies and transformative investments. Over the next 5 years, we will be investing over 60bn across our UK and US businesses nearly double the investment over the past 5 years. This is an exciting time for our industry that is creating significant opportunities for National Grid; this is not just a moment in time; it’s a game-changing era that will shape National Grid’s success for decades to come.

Given this backdrop, our supply chains are facing an unprecedented set of challenges and are at the forefront of our plans, placing National Grid Procurement at the center of our Net Zero goals. We have set out an ambitious transformation plan, focused on becoming a client of choice for our supply partners whilst ensuring outstanding outcomes for our Business Units (BUs). Our strategy revolves around significant changes in three core areas:

What You’ll Do

This role will provide current and predictive insights on category, supplier and market risk, to drive deeper knowledge and understanding to enable continuous improvement. Outputs will provide intelligence that supports actionable decision making whilst alleviating risks and ensuring direct value is realized through National Grids global supply chain.

  • Engage with key stakeholders to identify, fully understand and support category strategies with a view to providing supply chain risk insights that drive immediate and long-term value.
  • Engineer solutions which leverage existing tools as well as proposing new opportunities which provide transparency and evaluation of National Grids Supply Chain that create efficiencies and insights to stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reporting / insights to supplier relationship managers and the global procurement leadership team, with information on supply chain risks, market insight, evaluated products and a view of what value is being delivered.
  • Drive insights from internal and external data, developing improved processes for category intelligence that supports stakeholders to make actionable decisions that have meaningful impact.
  • Enhance the global view of the performance of National Grids critical and strategic supply chain, in order to identify, highlight, report on and drive awareness of supply chain risks, category markets, supplier base, desired performance levels and opportunities to reach strategic goals.
  • Implement the process of performance data analyzation and insight process to support and initiate continuous improvement measures.
  • Enhance and leverage combined view of risks in categories and suppliers to drive insights from an operational level that identify opportunities in short and long-term category strategies.
  • Manage real-time supply chain risk transparencies that offer active and alternative counter-measure options that support procurement operation effectiveness.

Requirements

  • The ability to build good relationships at all levels across the business, including liaising with and influencing senior management stakeholders
  • Experienced global market analyst with ability to prepare presentations that deliver key insights and explain options for solutions in a meaningful and effective way that support procurement strategies
  • Experience with developing and managing information intelligence processes that identify current state and present forecast trending market opportunities that provide realistic options
  • Background in supply chain management, global sourcing, market trending & insight, business collaboration in global enterprise environments
  • Motivated, self-starter and resourceful with a strong understanding of market analysis, ERP system tools, 3rd party software, data normalization and MS Office Suite

Additional Information

This role is offered on a Full-Time, Permanent basis.

We are also offering hybrid / flexible working where travel to the office will be as per business need.

This role can be located: Waltham, MA

Waltham: $99,000- $116,000 a year
