National Grids Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, well give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, youll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

National Grid Ventures (NGV) is at the forefront of the energy transition. We operate across the UK, Europe and the US, developing, operating, and investing in large-scale clean energy infrastructure. Were helping to accelerate societys drive towards net zero while maintaining security of supply today. This role is focused on NGVs US Northeast Offshore Development work and risk management.

As an Associate Analyst, you will support risk and planning activities for offshore wind development and other projects. The Risk Management and Planning team is responsible for ensuring critical risks, mitigations and decision points are captured, anticipated, and reported to executive leadership to produce better outcomes for the offshore development portfolio overall and its projects. This role is a unique opportunity to work with a highly dynamic, commercially driven team; to interact with and influence c-suite level decision makers, identify and solve complex challenges facing offshore wind, and enable large-scale offshore wind and transmission developments to move forward.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days of work in the office.

What You’ll Do

You will join a team of entrepreneurial and agile thinkers, self-starters, and collaborative team players.

You will:

  • Conduct market research and internal stakeholder interviews to identify progress or risks against strategic objectives and document findings on an on-going basis
  • Develop high-level qualitative, and in some cases quantitative, analysis to explain progress against strategic objectives and identify emerging risks
  • Help identify top risks and work with manager to develop management recommendations
  • Contribute to executive-level communication materials
  • Support workshops and challenge sessions by coordinating, documenting, and helping facilitate discussions
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to track progress on risk resolution activities and support advancement of objectives
  • Participate in roadmap building and other planning activities

Graduate Development Program Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution

  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025

  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025

  • Valid drivers license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grids Safe Driver policy

  • Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

Salary Range
Brooklyn, New York $74,000 – $90,000 a year

Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
