Description:

The Energy Systems Designer and Drafter will possess a strong proficiency in CAD software, will have or develop a thorough understanding of distributed energy systems (primarily Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage, and Electric Vehicle Charging), and a passion for sustainable energy. This role will involve creating plan sets and performing system performance estimates.

  • Assist with plan set creation, including drafting site plans and solar array layouts in AutoCAD.
  • Model Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system performance in Helioscope and Aurora.
  • Learn Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage (BESS) and EV Charging Station (EVCS) system design and calculations.
  • Maintain Engineering drawing databases and support the engineering change process by updating existing and creating new documentation.
  • Assist the Engineering Team and other departments with various technical tasks.
  • Handle confidential data professionally.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the management team(s).

Desirable Skills (not required):

  • Experience with Aurora, Helioscope and/or Energy Toolbase.
  • Experience with Sketchup.
  • Experience with solar photovoltaic (PV) installation and/or general construction.
  • Experience with solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage (BESS) and/or electric vehicle charging (EVCS) system design.
  • Familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC) and other building codes.
  • Education:
    • High School or GED, some college(s) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1-3 years Drafting/Engineering experience as an individual contributor.
