Job Description

Role Purpose
Lead business development, project management, strategic planning, policy advocacy, and ESG initiatives across the Americas region. This role focuses on decarbonization, sustainability, ESG initiatives, and the exploration of innovative business opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company’s global objectives.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Business Development and Project Management:

  • Collaborate with senior management to drive decarbonization, sustainability, and related projects across the Americas.
  • Identify business opportunities, develop partnering and contract, ensuring they align with project objectives and organizational requirements.
  • Oversee functional operations for assigned projects, including budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting, ensuring adherence to financial controls and regulations.
  • Conduct regular project reviews, assess risks, and develop strategies to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.

Strategic Planning:

  • Work with the Managing Executive Officer (MEO) and Head of Marketing in the Americas to create and implement strategic plans.
  • Identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and regulatory changes.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on market analysis and research.

Policy Advocacy:

  • Research and analyze environmental policies in the Americas, identifying key regulatory trends and challenges.
  • Develop and advocate for policy recommendations aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and government meetings to influence policy decisions and regulatory frameworks.

ESG-Related Business Planning and Execution:

  • Lead the planning and execution of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders such as government agencies, industry associations, NGOs, and private sector entities.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate ESG principles into business operations and monitor the progress of ESG initiatives.
  • Manage the ESG Committee’s operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s ESG strategy.

Networking and Start-ups Exploration:

  • Develop a network in the NY & NJ area to identify and explore startup partnerships that align with the company’s innovation goals.
  • Support the MOL Switch initiative by scouting emerging technologies and business models for potential integration into the company’s operations.

Carbon Credit Business Lead:

  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s carbon credit strategy, ensuring alignment with global decarbonization goals and regional business strategies.
  • Identify market opportunities and establish partnerships with carbon offset providers, industry stakeholders, and relevant organizations.
  • Manage the carbon credit portfolio, including sourcing, trading, and monitoring carbon credits to meet sustainability targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate carbon credit initiatives into broader ESG and decarbonization projects.
  • Stay informed about developments in carbon credit policies, market trends, and technological advancements, providing strategic recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications / Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, project management, and strategic planning in sustainability or decarbonization sectors.
  • Proven experience in policy advocacy, ESG initiatives, and financial management.
  • Track record of successful partnership development and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with environmental policies and market trends in the Americas region.
