Job Description The project contract manager supports activities associated with the development, implementation and administration of all contracts associated with the company’s renewables operations and engineering division. Job duties include the negotiation, peer review, coordination with the legal department, business unit review, document retention, contract notices and notice responses, and reporting for contracts associated with operations and maintenance of renewable assets. The project contract manager also takes a lead role in coordinating and participating in major cost and process improvement initiatives and projects, and provides technical support in managing the business unit’s financial performance.

Responsibilities

Supports activities associated with the renewables division implementation and administration of all contracts associated with the company’s operation and maintenance. Job duties include the negotiation, peer review, coordination with the legal department, business unit review, document retention, contract notices and notice responses, and reporting for contracts associated with the operation and maintenance of renewable assets. The position can be assigned any and all contract work within the renewables division. Coordinates with internal and external resources in the completion and execution of the contracts. Perform reviews of draft contracts, prepare commercial terms, review and revise contract formatting, assist suppliers/vendors by interpreting and communicating contract language to ensure compliance. (40%)

Provides support for Renewables Operations and Engineering during the request for information and request for proposal processes including the drafting of proposal documentation, clarification, communication with vendors and provision of evaluation summaries. Work with delivery business unit management to identify sources of data and implement processes to support unit cost determination and ongoing tracking. (20%)

Prepares, reviews and revises contracts, scope changes and amendments, as well as acts as a liaison between legal, procurement, other business units and the supplier/vendor in the execution of contracts. Ensure proper commercial terms are implemented according to business practices and procurement policies. (10%)

Maintain organized databases for all contracts and associated documents. Tracks costs and processes invoices associated with contracts. (20%)

Serves as the lead to mentor and improve the contract acumen and operational excellence of the department through development and enhancement of the contracting process including policies, and procedures. (10%)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, accounting, business or related field or equivalent work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree.)

Four or more years of related experience.

Six or more years or related experience required for th project contract manager role.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required, and presentation skills are preferred. Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities. Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues, tasks and projects concurrently.

Ability to travel occasionally (typically 10% travel).
