Our client is seeking a highly skilled Project Development Manager – Utility Scale specializing in renewables energy, particularly in solar, wind, or battery storage projects. The ideal candidate will oversee projects from inception through to NTP or COD, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to project timelines and budgets.

Description

The Project Development Manager – Utility Scale will

  • Lead and manage renewable energy development projects, focusing on solar, wind, or battery storage technologies.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, finance, legal, and external stakeholders to drive project development.
  • Conduct site identification, evaluation, and acquisition for potential renewable energy projects within the WECC (DSW and PNW) regions.
  • Manage the permitting and regulatory approval process to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Develop and execute project development strategies, including feasibility studies, financial modeling, and risk assessment.
  • Negotiate contracts with landowners, utilities, off-takers, and other relevant parties to secure necessary project agreements.
  • Prepare and present project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Profile

The successful Project Development Manager – Utility Scale will have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (4 years) in renewable energy project development, specifically in solar, wind, or battery storage projects.
  • Expertise in navigating the WECC (DSW and PNW) regulatory environment and familiarity with local market dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while effectively collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Understanding of financial modeling, risk assessment, and feasibility analysis in the context of renewable energy projects.
  • Located in California or anywhere within the WECC region
