My client are an industry leading Private Equity, focused on acquiring large, utility-scale projects/portfolios in development phases then taking them through development, delivery, and operating them.

Job Description

The Energy Storage – Manager, Development Engineering – Chicago will –

  • Primary interface between external development partner and private equity on standalone BESS projects under development.
  • Develop strategy to advance projects from early stage development through pre-construction.
  • Support in the review of interconnection agreements, discretionary permitting documents, and PPAs.
  • Lead pre-construction activities including detailed cost estimating, major equipment procurement, and EPC contracting.
  • Support the preparation of financial investment decision (FID) documents including budgets, schedules, risk management, and procurement documentation.
  • Prepare monthly board meeting presentations in support of the Project Director.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have –

  • A degree in Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the engineering and installation of Energy Storage Systems.
  • Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including National Electrical Code (NEC), International Building Code (IBC), and etc,.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Computer skills MS word, Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Communication to third parties and executive.
