About Our Client

A rapidly growing IPP (currently 100 people) that has coverage across the US for Utility-scale solar, wind and battery projects.

With a substantial pipeline of projects in both the early and delivery phase, our client are actively looking to grow their Development team and expand across multiple regions. The long term plan is for individuals to oversee specific regions in all renewable technologies. With the amount of projects they are currently working on, along with their pipeline, they need to appoint 3-4 Development professionals.

Job Description

The Director of Development (Solar & Wind) will be responsible for:

  • Lead and support an existing Development team
  • Effectively grow an existing Development team focusing on Utility-scale projects
  • Acquire real estate rights for development opportunities
  • Maintain relationships with landowners and other local stakeholders
  • Direct resource management processes and output estimates
  • Manage external stakeholders supporting environmental assessment campaigns
  • Manage external stakeholders supporting property and sales tax abatement efforts
  • Manage occasional permitting activities with support from other divisions of the firm
  • Prepare project budgets, schedules, and RFP responses

The Successful Applicant

  • 6+ years development experience within the industry
  • Must have overseen and delivered utility-scale solar, wind or battery projects
  • Exposure to developing projects in WECC preferred
  • Well-rounded project management experience
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Real Estate or Development is desirable
