Job Description

Metro Weather is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Business Development to lead our go-to-market initiatives, drive business growth, and expand presence in the U.S. market. As the Director of Business Development, you will be in a key leadership role responsible for driving business growth, managing strategic partnerships, and establishing new partnerships for our advanced wind lidar sensor technology in the aviation sector. Your expertise in sales, business development, and market analysis will be crucial in achieving company objectives and enhancing our global presence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales targets, comprehensive sales strategies and business plans to achieve company goals for wind lidar sensor products in the U.S. aviation market.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, R&D funding, and infrastructure projects to expand market reach and maximize sales growth.
  • Lead and mentor the U.S. team, providing guidance, setting clear objectives, and fostering a culture of high performance to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key customers, stakeholders, industry influencers, and decision-makers to promote our wind lidar sensor technology and secure long-term partnerships and contracts.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging demand, customer needs, and competitive intelligence, providing insights to drive product development and sales strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, and customer support, to ensure alignment in delivering customer-centric solutions and meeting market demands.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility, network with potential partners and customers, and promote our wind lidar sensor technology.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 8-10 years in sales, business development, and leadership roles within the technology, renewable energy, or aviation sectors, preferably with a focus on sensors or related technology products.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, achieving sales targets, and expanding market share through strategic planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated success in government procurement and in securing R&D funding.
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and industry partners.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric approach, analytical mindset, and the agility to adapt to a rapidly evolving market landscape.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed for customer meetings, conferences, and business development activities.
