Principal Engineer I, Sustainable Fuels
In this role, you will be a key player in developing and commercializing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production technologies as part of our dedicated focus on decarbonization and a greener earth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead pilot plant development and experimental data analysis.
- Collaborate with Engineering Science and Catalysis/Research groups.
- Develop reactor and process scale-up models.
- Conduct process and reactor simulations.
- Perform analytical testing.
- Generate process flow diagrams for new technologies.
- Design and implement experimental schemes for mass and energy balance.
- Optimize processes for the preparation of basic engineering design (BED) documentation.
- Partner with the Engineering department to create final PFDs, P&IDs, and Engineering Design Packages.
- Ensure safe operation of pilot plant activities.
- Proactively participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews.
Experience:
- B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in the refining, chemical, petrochemical, or energy industry.
- 5+ years of experience in a technology development environment.
