Lumina is looking for a Solar Technician to join our Energy Services Maintenance Team in Halethorpe, MD.

The Solar Technician will play a versatile role in our solar and solar maintenance operations, encompassing not only solar system inspections but also conducting thorough site surveys, performing maintenance tasks, and executing repairs with precision and expertise. This individual will be instrumental in upholding the efficiency and longevity of our clients’ solar systems.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues on pre-existing installations for residential and/or commercial customers
  • Complete the installation of products associated with residential PV systems, such as critter guards and EV chargers
  • Perform removals and reinstalls of pre-existing installations
  • Assist with roofing tasks, including addressing roof leaks, conducting repairs, and performing maintenance
  • Install electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices
  • Ensure electrical systems meet company standard job specifications, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and other relevant local codes
  • Coordinate and communicate with electrical inspectors on projects
  • Pull materials and stock the work vehicle for the day’s jobs, ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and in order
  • Support job safety and crew operations, including staging materials, providing site work support, assisting with site preparation, and cleanup
  • Provide regular updates on job status, complete necessary paperwork, and take photos as required
  • Offer customer support for troubleshooting system issues and maintain professional correspondence with customers
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team
  • Additional duties as assigned by the manager

On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:

  • At least 1 year of experience in solar maintenance or installation
  • Experience with roofing repairs and maintenance is a plus
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, both AC and DC, including troubleshooting, wiring, and assembly
  • Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
  • Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials
  • Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
  • Must be proficient in the use of smartphones and tablets, utilizing them effectively for communication, accessing job-related apps and software, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors as required
  • Proven track record of reliable attendance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job
  • Position requires passing a drug screening and background check
  • A valid drivers license is required for all positions at Lumina

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour
